Just lost reverse in my '01 Explorer sport!?!?!? Anyone else????

How many Miles? any funny noises when reverse is engaged, does swithing the overdrive off have any effect; how about fluid, is it foul smelling (burned), full etc.

Let us know what the dealer says, I'd be very interested in his explanation since I too own a 01 sport.

The car has about 18,000 miles. It started making a popping noise about week ago and out of no where I have no reverse. All the other gears work fine.

I lost my reverse when i did a reverse burn out and stripped the reverse gears... oh wait i dont think that applies in this situation

Well, at least it's still under warentee. I'd bring it in and see what ford has to say. I'm curious. I thought ford finally got their act together and started making some good transmissions! (Oh wait....who am I trying to kid? We are talking about ford here.....LOL)
