Sorry to hear that Kris. A few days ago I was sitting at a red light. A woman behind me didn't want to let someone in front of her so she kept moving up to block them off. She kept moving up and moving up until she finally hit me. Didn't do any damage, but I'm lucky between the two of the idiots that they both didn't hit me.

People can be pretty darn stupid...

The girl driveing had a hardship license. This was the fifth wreck this girl had been in (my sister knows her). Her insurance will fix the Explorer. Or I might fix the Explorer my self and keep the Cash. I fixed another Explorer one time when my Friend Rear ended an XLT so i fixed it an charged my friend for labor and the wreck did not go on his insurance.

Hey now, not all of us are bad drivers. I have put 40000 miles on my Explorer in a year and a half and I havn't put a scratch on it or anyone else's vehicle.

Anywho, that doesn't look to bad. Let me guess, the front of his car looked a lot worse? I thought so. Don't you just love Explorers? I want someone with a rice burner at school to rear end me just so I can laugh at him and drive home while he's waiting for the wrecker...

There is a bit of wrinkle in the body where the bumper pad pushed up against the body. There are a few good drivers with young age. I never had a wreck when I was a younger driver. My older brother on the other hand put $10,000 damage(not totaled BTW) on this same Xlt a year or so after we bought it.

This XLt has been involved in five wrecks total. The car has never been totaled. The entire front end has been replaced along with Engine, tail gate, front bumper again(some one backed in to us), and Rear ended twice.

Still drives like new.

this may sound dumb, but what is a hardship license?

I am not sure how many places have these but in Texas a 15 year old can get a license if the state sees that they need it for some reason. IE disabled parents, parents cant drive, ect.

Are you sure that it isn't the Explorer attracting the other cars with some mysterious force? Five wrecks and counting, you need to name that thing Christeen!

Geez, if she's only 15 and has already had 5 wrecks, thats horrible. Almost makes me glad I'm not down there. I'd be afraid to be out in a vehicle or just walking. Thats just terrible.

I was rear ended in my old 87 Ranger when I was 18. The guy that rear ended me was 16 and was driving a Plymouth Laser (small car). My ranger was stock height with larger tires, but his car went clean under it anyway. The only damage I had was a bent bumper, which my dad and I straightened and slapped back on. His car on the other hand had massive damage (ie: hood peeled up to the windshield, busted radiatior, both headlight and turn signals, front bumper was on the ground, both front fenders, etc...) Man I love trucks.

dang... one of my friends had his car totalled out because some 16-year old driver who'd had her license for just a few days pulled right out in front of him (didn't look both ways!). It was a nasty mess. There was another case here a few weeks back where a 16 year old, the day after getting his license, was driving his parents suburban going 85 in a 30... killed one person, paralyzed another, and sent four other people to the hospital. You wonder "what are these kids thinking?" but then I look back and say oh yeah, I remember just barely avoiding accidents many times that could have been deadly so Im not one to blame. By the way, the only accident I've ever been that was technically my fault was when I was 16... I was on an interstate and it was icy as hell... I was at a complete stop on an embanked portion of the interstate, and my vehicle slid sideways into the car below it. That's one accident I can honestly say I had no way of preventing, other then to not go to work that day... I couldn't stop, I couldn't accelerate, and I couldn't steer. In fact I was at a complete stop and just happened to slide sideways. <sigh>
Anyways Kris, sorry to hear about your accident, hopefully you can make some good money off of it .
By the way, in my 98 F-150 I was read ended three times. Every time at a stoplight, every time by a small car going under 5 mph, and every time it would damage quite heavily there vehicles, and the worst damage I ever got was a scratch on my trailer hitch, heh heh.

You know, if you had a tow hitch under there, you'd probably had just a scratch on the hitch and nothing on the body or the frame. Anyway, think about it after you have it repaired.

Same piece of advice for anyone out there without a tow hitch. The cheapest rear-end protection package you could buy and it serves more than one purpose.

To Jonathan- Its just that type of arrogance that gets people hurt and causes damage and "accidents". I'm 14 and I think I drive well, but I dont get overconfident and ****y about it, because I know what can happen when you start to jack around and be stupid, and its not funny when something happens. If you get out there and think your the ace driver, but then you get a little too confident and something happens that you cant handle, and your confidence takes a plunge. So dont get too ****y about it. And if you think I'm stupid for trying to talk some sense into you when your the same age as me, think what you want, but I'm not stupid. I had to drive home one night about 7 miles down old hilly bumpy half paved backroads when my brother had his wreck, and I learned alot in those 7 miles, as corny as that may sound. I was folliwng my dad going about 50 on gravel roads, couldnt hardly see because of the dust. That first mile got me used to it, because I almost went into the ditch before I even got up to speed trying to dodge potholes. But after that I got used to it, but I didnt think "Well hey this is easy, I can do anything now" and start hot roddin it screwing around, and thats why I got home safe. Just think before you do stupid stuff, and if your gonna put your own life at risk, dont put others in the same position.

Yea, ****iness gets ya in trouble. I must say, at 19 I'm a pretty d@mn good driver. I say this because of a few aspects. Have I been in an accident? Yes, one week after getting my license. Luckly, it wasn't my fault. I was cut off, no fault for me, the guy that cut me off, took off, so that was real kind of that pucker....In the other 3 1/2 years I've been driving, not one moving violation, and one damage to city property ticket...U-turn over a lil grass and it crushed down, that jag person called the cops on me, I went my self fixed it, and it was a 100 dollar fine b/c of court costs and the one piece of sod it took to "fix" it... So that wasn't nice...Kept that short but sweet... lots more details that I left out. Oh yea, the cops pull me over now cause they like lookin at it. Then warn me of the legal limits, etc and let me go on a warning, but not with out searching the truck...all in all....alot of kids are morons. Alot of people came to me b/c pops is a lawyer and the wanted legal advice for accidents tickets etc. I'm doin alright and am proud of where I've made it thus far.

It doesnt matter how old you are, driving is a matter of responsibility and how much attention you give your car and the road. The same is true about age for public message boards, thats why the elementry school squabbling should be kept to a minimum, and thought given to answers put up for others to see.

Dont matter what age I am Jonathan. Just because a person is older doesnt mean they have more common sense. I've seen 9 year olds with more common sense than 20 year olds. I could care less when you get your license, that dont mean that just because you have your license that you're automatically a good driver with some sense about ya. It dont matter to me when others get their licenses, I'll prolly be the last one in my class to get one, but I'll get one sure enough. Meanwhile while all the morons are out there running stop signs and playing chicken at train crossings, I'll be sitting here at home safe and sound, and I dont have a problem with that. Thats mostly the source of all the accidents around here lately, overconfident drivers thinking they can beat trains, and that no one is coming at a 4 way, etc. Plus, I'm not a liar. Dead Link Removed and then you'll see. Ask some others on here, they'll tell you. Now, that has nothing to do with the topic, so just drop it. I spoke what I wanted to and thats the end of it.

And by the way, this isnt kindergarten fighting, I'm just speaking my mind on how it is. You get ****y and overconfident, stuff happens. I'm just tellin him that just because he thinks he's a good driver doesnt mean he is. I'm sure alot of others will agree with me.
