Tokico's are awesome. Bought an all around set of shocks/struts and lowering springs for a 98 Mitcubishi Eclipse. Good performance and nice ride. I would recommend.

I have KYB's on my '66 Mustang, and my '04 Mach 1 came with Tokico's stock. Both work great! The KYB's made a HUGE difference in the handling of my '66 (which had gas charged shocks in it to start), and the Mach handles great on the Tokico's.

I have KYB Monomax shocks and I must say that they are great for performance but they are not a shock that will make your truck ride like a Cadiallac. They are strictly performance oriented.

Both are excellent brands. One thing though, they are both performance oriented and will ride much firmer than stock. If you want a soft riding shock these are not what you want.

exactly. i took them off mine b/c they were way to rough. they were heavy duty shocks, but a little too heavy duty. you can tell they would last forever, but the ride was too rough for my taste.

I bought the KYB MonoMax and have to say that it is a much firmer ride on the road. But, hit a speedbump at an angle or enter the driveway at an angle and no more banging your head on the door glass. Also, the other day some idiot decided to slam on his brakes on the Freeway and I had to slam on mine, engaged the Antilock brakes and had to swerve out of the way, I have to admit, if I didn't change out my stock shocks to the KYB's, I think I would have flipped my X. So, I'm not going to change my shocks, I'll sacrafice a little to get a more controlled ride. Lastly, I do some off roading on the beach to go fishing and that's when you can really tell the difference. I paid about $50 for each shock.

I have heard those names in the JDM and Import industry. I have heard they are great.

I agree that both brands are excellent quality

They are performance oriented, thus the firmer ride. I'm deciding which brand to go with myself. I've used Tokikos and KYBs on vehicles I've ownes before but never on a truck or SUV. From previous experience on the other cars both brands are very good and improve handling.
