My 2000 explorer developes a throttle problem with a real lack of power when it has been running hard for about 1 hour. The engine just seems to be running out of fuel when I hit the go pedal.
I had the fuel filter changed recently as I had run low on fuel a few weeks ago. This did nothging to help as, I can be cruising on the motorway at 70mph and suddenly it just seems to die when it reaches even a slight hill to climb.
Three Ford agents have tried but have been unable to fix it. In the morning on a cold start it will run OK but after about 1hr of hot running it will start to play up again.
Any suggestions would be most greatfully received as I've now lost most of my hair by tearing it out in frustration and I'm currently looking for steep cliff to drive over.

Have you had the computer codes pulled and if so what were they?
