ive done some searching on this site and havent been able to find an answer. if i were to do lockright lockers in the front end of my '00 xlt, would they only engage when i put it in 4wheel drive, or would it always be functioning, and would it work as well in the front as it would in the back, or would it be smarter to just lock the back? thansk

Most just lock the back, you only need to lock the front if your a SERIOUS about off roading..

if you put one in front and do the "brown wire mod" then your front will act normal, but if you don't the auto 4x4 will lock it up on you. The "brown wire mod" gives you normal 2wd if you didn't know what it was.

lock the back first, then the front.

Or, swap over to the 1995-96 vacuum disconnect front axle and then do the JDraper Vacuum Disco mod.

While you're at it, swap in a BW1354, and lockers and............ :D
