Ok, I put my warrior shackles. Now I have add a leaf on there too, but i kinda like the look of it being a little higher likethat in the back.

Now, you know that bottom straight leaf? Could I take that off, since I have a add a leaf on. Because it lowers my clearence.

i would leave it on...it wont hurt clearance that much.... and it may hurt the ride when you are loaded down....

I removed my overload spring (the straight one) because even at full compression, my add-a-leaf prevented the spring pack from flattening out enough to use it. The spring pack looks much 'cleaner' without it.

yeah ill never have a real heavy load. I think I may take it off.

jimbena what do you mean by "hurt the ride" if i had a heavy load i dont care about "the ride"
but what im saying is if i have a heavy load thats VERY un common. I will maybe haul a jet ski, or some bikes, or have some mulch or something in the back for my mom, or 3 people sitting in the rear seats. but thats it. i would really like to take that straight helper leaf off tomorrow, but i need to be completely sure its ok.

i wouldnt do it...

alright, im gonna get a couple more opinions too. have you done it? how could it mess something up?

take it out, it will help your ride. especially since you don't carry heavy loads. you'll be glad you did.

Hey I see you got my shackles. How do you like them? Anyhow, I would take it out. When i swapped my monoleaf w/ the trailmaster leaf pack i don't have that overload spring. Well, maybe its different since mine is not stock. Take it out and if you don't like it you can always put it back.

thanks man, everything was perfect. You even included lots of directions! Thanks man.

installation went easy, except i have a tube hitch (not from factory) and i had to drop it to get the upper shackles bolt out. so it took like an hour and a half last night, and 30 minuts today. if didnt drop the hitch, and i had done it before it could have been a 30 minute job. Thanks again.

I think this weekend. well damn i have to go to a wedding saturday. but sunday or monday i may take the helper leaf off. thanks guys.

Ohh hahahah. I didn't even check the box. I just put the shackles right in there after i took it off and sealed it up to ship. I didn't leave any nude pictures of me did I. j/k

hahaha im glad i didnt see any of those!

oh yeah, just wanted to say your ride is looking BAD ASS

So should I go ahead and take the bottom leaf off? What if I do have a heavy load ever....

Just keep it on. I don't think its really going to do much. If you have it then you'll never have to work about heavy loading. When you do a spring over conversion then take it off.

i dont plan on a sping over though.

I know you aren't. But if you did then take it out but since your not then leave it. Hmmm. I would leave it now that i think about it. Sorry not much of a help. Tell us what you end up doing.

Take it off, you don't need it with the add-a-leaf. I had 500 lbs in the back and it didn't even touch the helper.

have you taken yours off 2001?

When I had my add-a-leaf I did have it off. To be honest, the add-a-leaf and shackle idea isn't a good one. It overextends the shocks and overall is a bad ride. If you like the look but don't do much offroading then keep the set up.
