Led light bar behind grill.

I wonder if a short light bar could be mounted in a headlight housing and used as a replacement for the OEM headlights?

I'm sure it could be but hids would be cheaper/easier to install and would blind people just as much.

Even if you tried aiming the headlights the light pattern would not be controllable enough that it would still blind people?

Well cree makes 1,3,5,and 10watt LEDs so maybe a
Smaller light bar with 1watt cree LEDs with a spot beam bezel wouldn't be too bright for oncoming traffic.

My light bar has 42 3watt cree leds. 18 spot LEDs in the middle and 24 flood LEDs on the sides. Looking at it it's super bright and hard to see the difference between the spot and flood beams but maybe 1watt LEDs wouldn't be as blinding.

Also I don't know of you have ever heard of the cree led conversion kits. It's like a hid kit but instead of his bulbs it's cree led bulbs that put out that nice 6000k colored light and are 30% brighter than halogens.

Needed to modify the plastic support a lil bit to move the light bar back some.
