So
I gave Rick An orange and black cover a while back. Too bad it wouldn't fit over his air locker--extreme sadness.

Rick made an executive decision. The next best thing was to use it as an award. I said whatever, it is yours so do what you like. Just so everyone knows, Rick donated it, not me. I just want him to have the credit.

R.J. was the lucky winner.

Now, I like orange , however, I didn't think it went well with Robby's truck, so, I begged him to let me bring it back home to re coat it.

I couldn't get him to fix on a color, so, took it into my own hands.

The highlights are candy blue, I think they will set off the blue on those Shocks he uses.

Hope he likes it.

NJ! Jon, what did you basecoat the blue with?

Center caps of death, murdered with a transparent black called " black chrome 2"
This is my first attempt with this style of cap. They are chrome plated plastic.

hot damn we can get powder coated caps finally :D

Cools.

Are you more comfortable with how much heat plastics can take? I just got a spare pair of mirrors to swap with my faded pair.

Don, All I can say is I will give it a try.

I have done a 97 hatch handle which took 2 complete heat cycles just fine. Other things not so whoopie

It seems if the part has a metal layer, it will not distort as easily.

Ah, that makes sense. The new/old pair I bought looks different, I had forgotten what the material did look and feel like. It is a thick hard plastic, but it used to be slightly more flexible, and black. I bought this pair just in case, for the worst case. I'd like powder coating, and painted 2nd, but these I got have 59k miles on them.

Nice Nice Nice. As everything you do. I am guessing people will be wanting these.

They're already mine. :D

I've been driving around centercapless for the last week. However, these aren't going back on my stock wheels. I'm putting them on Pro Comp Rock Crawlers.

Pics will follow once I get them back.

OHV?
If so, I have extras on hand. Send me a pm and we can work out an exchange. That way your truck will only be down long enough to swap it.

Looking forward to pics. That was the wheel I was thinking of. I have a set of Black Rock Crawlers as well. Getting ready to put them on for winter.

Unfortunately, I didn't order hub centric adapter rings and I don't want to take a chance on putting all of the weight on the studs, so the wheels still aren't installed. However, I'll snap some pics of the centercaps with the wheels tomorrow so everyone can get an idea of what they look like paired with black wheels. I'm actually thinking of returning the Pro Comps in favor of some polished aluminum wheels, so I might even toss these caps up for sale. Potential buyers should know that there is some pitting because the caps weren't perfect when I sent them out to Jon.

you will be hearing from me again soon :) especially after I am done with installing turbo on my x then I will be more than happy to send you few parts from my engine bay along with money so you can have them powdercoated!

I liked how you did my billet grille in mirror black!

I thought you weren't coating those anymore?

I am finishing up on prior committed ones. There are a few out there still holding on to them I think.
