Nice, but you're right. The tires are a bit small after the BL. Go for 33s.

As for pictures, you can always link from another site (if it allows linking), but try not to blame EF for not allowing attachments without membership. This is a pretty large forum and they have to pay the bandwidth bills somehow.

Nice looking x, buy I agree much bigger tires in order ;)

Nice X, all that lift makes those 265s look real puny. Nice job on your truck

thanks guys! i had to do all the work on it myself since nobody in OZ seems to know stuff all about them,,if you go into a 4x4 shop here and ask what lift kits are available for explorers they just look at you with a stupid look on there face and then laugh!.I made the 2inch B/L out of solid aluminium rod, bought longer bolts from harware and used high tensile threaded rod to make my own bolts for the rear mounts cause over here there is no such thing as a 200mm long set screw with a thread that runs all the way up the bolt??? all up it cost me 175 buks to make. all i gota do now is get rid of those sucky little tyres!!!

Yikes I hope the tensile strength of the aluminum is comparable to the hard plastic that is used on the body lift kits. I hate to see you break a body mount.

yep, i used industrial aluminium aloy rod 75mm in diameter, cut into 10 2inch pieces, drilled holes through the centre to match the 12mm thread bolts. for the back i used high tensile 12mm threaded roding to make the 200mm long bolts i needed. it was really easy to fit aswell all i had to do was remount the radiator plastic surround, no stuffing around with steering exstentions, break lines, ac lines and because its a t-bar auto mounted on the floor all the cables had heaps of slack to take the extra 2inches,, it was easier than i expected!!. i check the mounts every couple of days and have had no problems so far and iv givn her alot of **** through the bush and over some pretty rough trax,, il keep my fingers crossed!LOL

hello fellow 98-er... u wont have any problems at all with those aluminum pucks as they're always in compression... its the bolts that are in tension so this is what you'd need to worry about.

hi IZwack, i used the proper bolts for all but the rear mounts cause i coudnt get any to match that were long enough, thanks il keep an eye on them,,, some of the bolts were a real ***** to get out! i would like to see some piks of your 98X with the 33" tyres, im thinking about getting 33s or 35s to complete my truck soon , tis just a matter of cash. got any piks i could look at?? cheerz mate

OMG i didnt even know u were in australia <- thats gr8! send over a wallabee please! i'd like to put him in my backpack.

dam thats a nice truck! those 33s look wicked! Do you know if i will have to change my 16"rims to fit 33s?? iv got 265\70 R16 tyres on there now, i really like the mags and want to keep em on if possible. When the lift bug bites there is no going back.Il try to send you a wallaby but its gunna be a real pain in the ass trying to bubble wrap the bloody thing!LOL

Hey, I have a 98 with all suspension lift and 33's. I dont think you will have to change rims I ran 32x11.50 on a stock rim but you definately wont need to if its a 10 or more inch wide rim like what I changed to for my 33x12.50s

hi alan, im going with the 33s for sure now, i scored a set of 10.5 inch x 15 rims cheap and have got some 33 BF Goodies M\T lined up for 300 buks a pop, hopefully il get some piks up in the next few days. do you get any rubbing on the front tyres when you turn full lock? thats a mean looking truck you have there, i hope mine looks like that when im finished.

Hey thanks, I have no rub at all up front. When its very flex'ed offroad then the top of my rear tire rubs in the wheel well(sp?). My 33's measure out to 33.4" so its a true 33 unlike some. Im making a new front bumper right now and rock sliders so it doesnt look quite the same. the bumper definately will make it way meaner looking ill put pics up when im done with it

isnt 75mm like 3"? thats a big chunk of aluminum.....

75mm in diameter

hi jimabena74,the lift blocks are 75mm in diameter and 2inches thick in height. im gunna go the 3inch if i get any rub on the bigger tyres.

hi alan,i know what you mean about the different sizes in the so called 33inch tyres, i had my local tyre shop dealer try to flog me a set of bridgestone 33s,,i was going to buy them till i got the tape measure out and found they only measured up to 32.5, so for a few extra bukz i can get some BFGs with a 3 ply sidwall instead of the average 2ply and there a true 33.i cant wait to get em on there!it would be good to see some pikz of your new bumper it might give me a few new ideas, the bull bar i have on mine looks a little bit too bulky.
