I keep thinking on what I said a few posts back about cars being 'just machines' and how I really shouldn't get attached to them... and how completely unlike me it is to say something like that. I have virtually no family and no one to depend on other than friends. Even then, friends can only do so much. So why SHOULDN'T I love my inanimate movable objects? The love's gotta go somewhere..! The hell with anyone and everyone who's never gotten emotionally attached to their cars!!

On that note, the Focus likes to scoot. It's like driving a glorified Ford golf cart, really... So "Scoot" she is

At work, we have one with an '04 Terminator powertrain. Fits nicely. It also has a 5 lug conversion and 13" brakes.

We had a couple of other Foci with various 5.0L strokers and transmissions swapped in and out.

You know i thought about the above statement and it got me thinking about just attached i have gotten to my Explorer and oddly this has never happen to me before and yes i have owned and sold more vehicles then most people own in their lifetime But when i got my '91 at first i was thinking just another Explorer but now i have gotten so attached to it i can't even fathom selling it now even tho i have a few people interested in wanting to but it me. Now i just look at em like there crazy.......

There's a Detroit-based company dropping 4.6s into them all day long. I saw some at a car show about three years ago. I've got the pics at home... I'l upload them this afternoon. There was all of 3/4 of an inch between the radiator and the water pump pulley, but they thing was a SCREAMer!! Last time I saw the parent web site, they were somehow shoe-horning a centrifugal blower and an intercooler in there too!! Sure, they're probably not getting 30 MPG, but in that little car, you could probably compensate for the poor engine fuel consumption with a 2.25 rear end. Imagine lugging along just off-idle in 4th gear doin' 75 down the freeway! The mileage would be stellar!

I personally don't like the focus at all, as for the hood and bumper.. I think it looks nifty that way.. Congrats on a new vehicle.. getting better gas mileage than most of us here.. lol..

haha.. sorry... perhaps you could trade it in for a 1st gen x? maybe even another 2nd gen... this is all just me though.. my own opinion... if you like it.. then that's cool..(that's what matters) go with it.. and have fun with whatever you decide to do with it..
