I have a 96 explorer, 176000 miles. Recently had the brake master cylinder replaced due to a leak. Since that time, I get a terrible loud squeeling noise upon a cold start. (It sounds like what you would hear if you took a corner too fast in a hotrod!)After running some time it quits. Brake is a bit spongy at first then is fine. But the strange noise is very loud. Took it back in and they said it needed a new serpentine belt, so I replaced that. Did not fix the problem at all. Replaced the idle air valve and still no improvement.
I'm still thinking it is brake related because when you push the pedal in, the noise lets up but does not quit. Only quits after you drive it some.
Any thoughts?
