lastnight my 05' explorer took a rear end hit by a jeep liberty.
my wife was driving, and i have to say, that she is just fine, just shook up emotionally.

the accident was a 50 mph zone, and my wife was stopped at a red light.

the explorer took all the force of the impact, and flew forward almost 150 feet from the impact point.

i believe the the car is totaled, the rear frame and tow hitch are pushed about 1.5 inches forward. and both rear doors do not close rite. the worst part is that the rear suspension frame is nearly touching the rear differential.

ill post up some pics in a few

Oh my gosh! i'm glad she's all right! Have her go get checked out again in a week or so. Some collision injuries don't show up right away. If she has any unexplainable dull pain in the future, you know where it came from.

Another X keeps another person safe. Good to her she is ok.

Gotta ask, How bad was the Liberty?

Wow, stinks you guys have to go through this over Christmas. Glad you wife is OK, sound like your ex is totalled if the rear doors won't open.

I would agree!! Im sorry for that. Glad your wife is doing ok tho. ^^ and i agree with jman689, hows the "foo foo jeep''?

Good to hear your wife’s ok. Caulk one up for the full frame truck. You know a unit-body would have folded up like an accordion. I have a four year old daughter and it’s this type of safety feature that kind of makes the Ex hers and my wife’s truck. I drive the old unit body . . .

Glad she's ok. +1 on the aches and pains. Don't sign off on any injury claims yet. Did the idiot in the jeep get hurt?

Oh no thats horrible.

Im glad she is ok

thanks everybody for your good wishes.

my wife is still having weird lower back pains, im having her goto a specialist to make sure everythign is OK, i have just a single pic of the Jeep liberty, i found it at a local body shop. wow its messed up.

the girl in the liberty was 18, and she was ok, but i have no official info of her condition. although the 3rd car involved in thsi accident was in a Toyota Celica, again another little girl she was 20, broke her leg when she rear ended the liberty.

lets see if these pics work.. sorry for the crappy pics.

My goodness, this is very sad, and these young people 18 and 20 having this horrible experience so young. I hope your wife will be okay, make sure they check her kidneys for bruising. It sounds like this was a very bad crash... take care.

I hope she is ok in the long run--that was quite a hit-

It looks like your explorer stabbed the liberty to death-and left part of itself in the radiator.

Its a good thing we have a good frame under these Explorers! Ford makes tough trucks and SUV's as you can clearly see why, they just hold up great in accidents.

Glad everyone is okay, always could be worse in an accident. good luck to you!
