So as some of you know I'm in the market for new second-gen and I ran across this ad today and I just wonder what the heck was done to this car and how easy it would be to convert back. I spoke with the lady and she really has no clue, part of me wonders if she just didn't know the terminology The ad says
"It was originally AWD but the transfer case went out, so the mechanic made it FWD so that we didn't have to buy a new transfer case at the time. If you want to purchase a transfer case, we still have the parts to make it AWD again."
This is a 97 mountaineer with the 5.0 it is sub 1k Just wondering if it would be worth it or not. My old mounty was a 99 with the v6
