I would like to test my fuel pressure on the road under load.

I think it would be possible to run an extension from my schrader valve to my Autozone fuel pressure gauge temporarily mounted on my winshield wiper.

I am not a big advocate of getting readings and things in the driveway at idle. I believe true readings must be done in real world conditions.

I am sure it would not be to difficult to run a fuel line extension from the schrader valve out the side of the hood and up to the gauge. Has anybody ever tried this method??

What parts do I need to buy?

Thanks much...

Why not just remove your hood for a minute--prop the guage up with zipties or duct tape?

4 bolts--just mark them all

I suggested this because you already have everything you need to do this. Two guys would be finished road testing, and having a cold drink, before you returned with needed parts

Surprise Al, I never fixed my fuel problem.

Everything I did would be better for a little bit then go back to were it was before.

Most "professional" pressure guages already have a hose long enough so you can do exactly what you are proposing, so I don't see why you can't make one to do the same. Just remember to pay attention to the traffic/road or find a secluded area to do your testing.

It could leak or burst under pressure. I had this happen one time while doing a test drive with a hose connected to the fuel rail. Gasoline is very flammable, so it's not safe to experiment too much with it.

That sounds like a good tip Brooklyn...
