Matt's '92/'99 4X4 V8/4R70W swap!

Try to add anything else that you need to the same order from Summit. Their handling charges are high for small orders, so try to buy $100 or more at a time. With an order active, you can add other things to it and not have new handling charges.

got spas' maf in today as well as some trans bolts. thanks again.

most of the summit order has shipped esept for the canton adapter which is statused as: "expected arrival 4/12/09" which means thats when they expect to get it from canton.

hopefully that is as long as ill have to wait.

Summit has a lot of things which list as to be shipped weeks from current. I had a few gauge parts that were to be shipped by 3/20, and received most by about 3/7. Hopefully your part will be ahead of schedule, maybe they are making the date farther than truly expected.

strangley, the heads on your bolts were smaller than the ones on mine. Yours were 10mm and mine were like 12 or 13.

But the built in washer and the bolt itself were the same so it's all good. I'm guessing ford changed the size to keep people from torqueing them too much since Its alluminum.

Cloyes heavy duty double roller.

That's good, but are the rollers seamless? That's a key with a roller timing chain.

I bought a Cloyes for my Cleveland about 25 years ago, they were the highest cost, yet had seamed rollers. I was not impressed, I haven't bought a Cloyes part since then. False advertising bothers me.

thanks for the link but I have purchased my headers. The same ones as Ryan. The hedman 88400's.

I will attempt to overcome the spark plug hitting primary issue with shorter plugs and a 1/2 stainless steel spacer. And 90* spark boots.

this is why you dont let your late teens daughter take the rear wheel drive mustang for a saturday drive after 5" of snow have come down in 6 hours.

cause shes gonna do something stupid like get stuck halfway up a fairly shallow hill and decide it will be a great idea to PARK the car SIDEWAYS in the middle of the road instead of reversing down the hill and trying again, which will force other people who came prepared with the right kind of car for the weather to swerve into the ditch to avoid her. and get stuck.

but oh well. not like ive never done anything stupid. bad weather, stuff happens.

truck body is fine, drives fine, ill check underneath tomorrow when it warms up.

got in the canton adapter from summit and a new oxy-cetylene torch set.

Cut-off wheels and Sawzall's are old school, but they work.....consumables are cheap..

Oxy is a bit faster, not as clean as a Sawzall/Wheel cut...but the consumables are expensive..

But BY FAR the best is PLASMA!...all you need is electricity, and a compressor...NO consumables....but they are expensive as heck to get...

...so I'll get by with my 2 Sawzall's (one Brand New Swazall, and one VERY old Sawzall) and my 2 - 4" Angle Grinders/Cut-off Wheels.

My friend came over on Thursday, and we C-notched his S-10 in 3 hours. We each worked on a different side, at the same time....work went fast that way....WOULD have been done in 1/2 the time if we had a Torch/Plasma!.

jon why does it say your tag is Turdle?

Agreed that you and the truck are fortunate. A little speed or a rut/stump and it could be on its side. Bad drivers are everywhere, people do not think while driving, that's not a requirement.

In my V8 Swap thread I posted the specs of that plug.

Short version:

The plug is 2-1/8" from the seat to the tip.

sweet thanks Ryan. Mine are the same.

I think that plus a 1/2" spacer and 1/8"s worth of gaskets will give me room to work.
