Good question. The Ford cam end play has never been a problem, likely because the sprocket controls the movement well. There never were roller bearing parts behind timing chains for Fords, until recently I found out. Now they are much more common, they seem to start around $90.
What I'm really saying is that that end play has never been a big issue in building a Ford. If some new parts that can cause issues are now available it may be something to worry about, but I doubt it. If you have that proper tiny end play with the sprocket on, and the alignment is right, I'd be comfortable installing it as you have it.
You always carefully inspect all parts, how they line up with all others around it. Do that and if things move freely and there is no odd play anywhere, I think that you are good.
