I went out and bought a set of Rancho 5000's and was gonna install them tonight but when I took them out of the box they were compressed with no band to keep them from extending.
All the shocks I have ever bought, including the Rancho 9000XL's had the plastic/metal band/strap to keep them compressed until you install them.
I had to pull the shocks to extend them and then it only took minimal effort to compress them, this usually is how you tell a shock is worn out, what gives?
I don't wanna tear the old blown out shocks off until I have good new shocks to use.
Everyone says the 5000's are a stiffer ride and if this is how they come then they're a stiffer ride because their bottoming out all the time, lol.
