Alright, we have a call out to get a 1 bdrm suite for 5 days. It's the off season, and their not keeping late hours (8:30pm when I called) so I left a message. Have to wait on a call back to confirm.

Almost official!! :D

I'm in.

Will be looking for a cabin rental in town for our stay.

Unfortunately the EX wont be going. Wont have a tow rig or trailer by then. We will be looking for others to traverse easier trails with in the FJ Cruiser. We can run trails such as Fins & Things no problem, so will still be a lot of fun for us.

Looking forward to wheeling with some of you again, and meeting others for the first time. :)

If i make it (depends on weather or not i get the house im looking at later this week) ill run the easy trails with you. As much as i would love to find the limits of my explorer on this trip i cant afford fuel for the tow rig and dont want to break something expensive that far from home.

An idea,I'm in Minnesota, you got to drive right by me to get there. I have a cummins dually but no trailer, will yours fit 2 ex's? I'll tow from MN and back if it will.

Not sure where to stay in Moab, only been there once. We are easy to please, motel or whatever. Any suggestions?

When do you plan on leaving? I im leaning towards canyonlands myself.

Jessi,
I ran the BH in Moab for 3 days on 33", 5" of lift, rear locker, with Sliders. Had a blast and the only issue I had was the trans got hot one day. That was enough to scare me a bit, so I just took it a little easier after that. No problems.

I can say that if your out after dark, you will want as much extra lighting as you can get. A hand held spot light saved us many times looking where the off road lights didn't reach.

Also....
2 small coolers is what we use. 1 for ice and drinks, the other for our daily lunches, using re-freezable ice packs or ice cubes in a few large ziplock bags. All that camber/tilt will slosh the ice water and ruin your food if it gets wet.

Still looking for a room tonight. The 1 bdrm suite was only available for one night. They didn't update the website when I tried to book it. Have a couple places in mind that have kitchenettes available still. :)

I look forward to seeing yall! And gman, no need for me to rob another dpfe sensor from yea this time lol

Kevin (Diff Whack Daddy) and I will be disassembling the Ghost for spare parts for this trip.

Post up with 1st Gen parts y'all think we should bring.

axles and drive shafts, that seems to be the most common failures, and hubs. I need to pick up a few spare axles myself.

That is great advice. I am concerned about heating the trans with 3.73 gears, but i will have the trans cooler plumbed by then, and im planning on finding a small pusher fan to help as well. I plan on bringing a small cooler for lunches, and my cloth lunch box from work for drinks. Not gonna have rock sliders either, not enough time or funds to build a set. its gonna be tight on time to get the body lift installed on time at this point.

We'll definitely bring;
Front drive shaft
Rear drive shaft
Both D-35 axle shafts (w/C clip eliminator spring inside the female end)
Spindle
Manual hub
Wheel bearing set and seal
Spindle bearing and seal
U joints for drive shafts and axle shafts
PS pump
Steering box
Heater hose (ask James t about that)
Hose rated for tranny lines

Stock brake lines???
Serpentine belt? (Paul?)
Alternator?
Transfer case (shift motor in Jrgaylor's other rig)
A4LD?
Brake caliper?
Rotor?

We are leaving the 5th getting there wednesday the 8th and leaving monday the 13th,we are goofing off on the way home as we don't have to be back for another 6 days on the 19th.:D My email is safn1949@gmail.com if you want to get hold of me.

You guys with stock trucks can run an amazing amount of trails if you stay off the skinny pedal,as my sig states I went over Elephant hill in 2009 dead stock with p rated 235/75/15s. You will scrape your fuel tank plate and the spring hanger mount on the front of the rear spring. I also have a front and rear hitch that take a lot of the punishment. I will have a video camera along mounted on my dash also.

I like this! Shade will be specially outfitted just for this trip so I guess he wont be completely stock, but mods will include 31" tires, TT and shackles, 1" body lift, special running board delete rocker panels, and a special designed 'off-road' limited bumper with better ground clearence.

This is probably already been discussed or is unneeded, but should we make a list of who is bringing what as far as spare parts or tools so that way everyone is covered if something breaks? I know you can never know what you need and every man for himself basically, lol, but just an idea. Like here's what Im bringing:

(1) NGS
(1) WDS
(1) 60 Pin EEC-IV breakoutbox
(1) 93-94 4wabs bleeder with cables
(1) A/C manifold set with vacuum pump (Incase anyone needs A/C work done in the middle of the desert)
and other assorted tools. I think guilbeaux is bring spare driveshafts and what not.

I don't know, just an idea.
