i love my dick cepek mud country's

i like my bfg mud terrains so far. they are nice and if you order them through tirerack.com they are cheapish. i payed $700 for my 33x10.50's

X2 on the BFG muds. I'm running 35's and they dont vibrate at all and are actually pretty quite for a mud tire. Ive put alot of street miles on them and they are wearing really well and even. They perform excellent off-road as well. Maxxis Buckshot Mudders are ok but I've heard they wear funny and are really noisy especially on heavier trucks.

X3 on the BFG MT's. I have been running them on different 4X4's for probably 20 years now and never had any problems.

X4 on the BFGs but they only lasted 15,000 miles or so before they were worn down too low to sling mud. No they were not bald just not good for the mud at 15,000.

I have the BFG M/T's on my 04 Mounty........BEST tire I ever had.
They resonate and vibrate alot in the cabin when you first get em, but after 2000 miles the noise cuts down.
(although they are still going to be quite a bit louder and alittle more vibration than stock tires...but its bearable, nothing crazy)

I have around 15k or so on them, and they BARELY wore at all. Still 90% tread easily.......and thats mostly ALL highway.

I rotated them ONCE...yet still have perfect equal tread/all 4 sides
(they reccomend rotating every 3000 or so....but ehh........)

BFG MTs are definately generally accepted as the Best Highway/Off-road tire.

I can vouche for that! Ive run thru some extremely bad streets and highways.
I NEVER lose more than 1psi of air, they are practically maintenance free for me!

------

Excellent traction in rain
Excellent in snow
Great in mud(but there are better tires for strictly mud)
Great in sand(done my fair share, they always catch grip)

They have even been good on pure Ice, i intentionally tried spinning out on ice sheets around a sharp turn at low speeds and easily regained control every time!
(some of those could be due to the AWD system, but the tires Definately made the difference either way)

MAN do i have some stories thanks to these tires! Saved my life Literally 3 seperate times on the highway, and helped some dude pull his Work van along with 2 jetskiis out of big sand ditch. Those suckers pulled like it was nothing! hahahaa

------

Im puttin these on EVERY friggin truck I ever buy....period! lol
I wish i could throw a set on the back of my mustang for winter, but thats a whole nother story!

I've got Mastercraft MT's. They're cheap (a little under $500 installed a year or so ago) and work great in mud and rocks. They were hard to balance, had to have them redone a couple times, but seem to be holding up well.

tiresavings.com Federal Couragia MT, All i have to say is they DIG and DIG and DIG and..... DIG!! These tires have kept me smilin no matter how much sand or mud and on the road and rain they are excellent! Ive had my truck just above my headlights with slop and still pulled out. And ive only got the 265-75-16, Was gettin a bl to sport the 285s then bounced off a tree and the money went toward body parts rather then body lift.

i had 285/75/16 Dunlop Mud Rovers on my '02 f-150 and they were pretty sick. They road well on the street and ripped it up in the dirt/mud. The Mud Rovers were also surprisingly quiet in the cabin. I road mostly on highway and put around 20,000 miles on them and they were still knobby. After i get my lift on the Ex, i'm definately going back to Dunlops.

...i also got them from the local Discount Tire for about $130 a pop. Great deal in my opinion

Yea my neighbors toyota has had those mud rovers on it for FOREVER and they still look pretty good as far as tread. I dont have any experience with them but he likes them. Also they're 33x12.50.

Dunlops are cheap, but I absolutely hate them. I've got a set of 30x9.50r15s on the '91. They suck! I had a cheap all terrain on it last, and it handled like a sports car. With the Dunlops the front pushes in dirt really bad, it doesn't want to bite. In the mud, they dig really quick. So unless you've got enough ground clearance to dig to hard bottom, they'll get you stuck quick. They are not a comfortable/quite tire for highway use either. For a cheap mud tire, go with Mastercraft. Your best bet would be BFG AT's for on and offroad use though.

Another vote for the BFG MTs.

its too bad you didnt have a good experience with the dunlops. i loved them. but ive heard good things about the mastercrafts too. whats the life like on them?

Mine have been semi-abused for a year or more. Not a lot of miles, but a good bit of aired down use, lockers, maybe a couple burnouts...lol. They've got most of the tread left, and no chunking. They're also very tough, I've got a few cuts in tread and sidewall, but none penetrated enough to leak. Got a screw in one...so its plugged.

Cooper MT STT all the way. Your not on a budject correct... Ive had BFG MT very good tire, however my Coopers hold up better for my type of abuse.

What i meant by dig was bite, i think... well hella traction!!!

Check the prices on the BFG KM2s now. I think they are close to the Mud price. A very good tire. If not, the BFG Muds are agreat choice.

I would recommend these as well. You can find them here:

Cooper MT SST!!!! Just enough noise to let you know you're driving mudders, great handling, price OK. Ran them on a 1990 Trooper, they barely wore in 20000 miles (Trooper weighs nothing tho), but it was like I put tank treads on my truck or something. Oh yeah, mine need to be balanced when I rotate the tires, ~7500 mi.
