My Exploder =)

Just bought my 2001 sport trac. I am no stranger to trucks. Besides the exploder, i have a 98' toyota tacoma with a 350 in it and a whole **** load more stuff in it. Its a mini monster. However, after riding around in a gas guzzler through out college and part of my air force career i figured it was time for something different. I hated cars so i checked out the sport trac. It only took me one test drive to know that i absolutely loved it. Anyway the biggest concern that i had about is how the hell do i find the code for the door key pad. I bought it from courtesy nissan..NEVER BUY **** FROM THEM THEY ARE ***S!!!!!! they wouldnt tell me, they sent me to the ford dealership and they wanted 80 bux to reprogram it. #### that, a friend of mine at work recommended me to this site so i figured what the hell. I read the owners manual and it didnt really tell me ****, because i looked in both places for it and didnt find ****. So any help peeps?

I had the same problem, in my 1998 xlt i took the cover for the place where the jack is off, in the back cargo area, and there was a small computer box over the drivers side wheel well and the code was on the box. It was hard to read, i would have someone help you since it will take a couple tries to get the code right, and you have to bend in some strange ways to see the code. Again, I don't know if it is the same on a 01 sport, but it is a place to start, plus look in your owners manual, and if you can find a chiltons book or something like that it may tell you.

He has a Sport Trac so it wouldn't be in the same area. Someone should know. Welcome to the forum.
