try A 1 1/8TH socket with at least a foot long extension down through the top of the spring it worked with a friends 94

Yep, 1-1/8". It'll have to be a deep-well. I had to pull the extension off the socket and put it on halfway to fully tighten the stud.

thanks alot you guys i didn't kno if it was standard or metric but thanks again

extensions

I did mine yesterday! Use a 1 1/8 deep and 2 5" or 6" extensions. Put the socket on one, feed it down from the top and add the second. This will put your rachet about an inch above the spring mount and not interfere with the inner fenderwell.

Just for the record the actual nut size is 28mm and will fit without any slop. It can be hard to find the 28mm hex deep socket, so most people just use a 1 1/8" since it is only 0.023" larger and works fine in most cases.

hey thanks i really appreciate that info!!

ahhhhhhhh the handy 28mm socket :)
Three tools you may not have in your collection that you need for this truck, 1-1/4" wrench, 1-1/8" wrench and 28 mm
