Hey guys, i need whatever answer i can get to the name of this sensor:

I had finished installing my new transfer case on my 98 X. I get under the hood and start motor to check everything out. Notice that a a hose was not hooked up and was coming from what i believe is part of the emissions system on the exhaust manifold. The tube comes from many small tubes that come off the manifold and come into one. It runs up to a sensor mounted on the side of the intake on my 4.0L OHV. Thus it runs back out but haven't traced to see where that goes. But, the plastic nipple had melted off(cause still yet to be determined). I need to find out the name of this sensor to get a new one. Any help that will lead me in the right direction would be great.

Thanks,
James

A picture would help...there's a ton of vacuum lines running around there.

Sounds like part of the EGR system. But yeah, get a pic! :D

alright, will get one tomorrow in the daylight, cam don't like night as it don't have a flash on it=gay. But i will get it.

Is it a rectangular black or silver box mounted on the side of the intake?

I think you're looking at the DPFE, based on your description.
Mine blew a hose a while back and melted some stuff.

EDIT: It's the black box at the bottom of the picture, right under the IAC (silver canister)
