Do you reeeeeeeally need that many lights? And if you take your Explorer off road (tight spots), some of those lights are going to get ripped off.

Put it back on, and ask her to tell you what law she is quoting, by the number, so you can go look it up. The cops have to quote the number of the law they write the ticket for on the ticket itself. She has to know what one she is quoting.
If you have correctly stated the laws in your state, let her write the ticket. She will lose and be embarrassed when the judge throws out her bogus charge.
My feeling is that she is trying to make a name for herself by pushing everyone around so they know she is "in town" and "in charge".
Typical rookie cop bullcrap.

the for wheeling around here is not that bad some rocky trials some upclines downclines i toke the mounty out a few dozen times now and they seam fine for the area i live. and i do counsatrotion thats what the yellow rotater light is for

Shes jelous!
Hey only we get the nifty spot light.
Keep us posted on how this goes. I see retired crown vics with those all the time. Your just a target cause your truck is nice.

The laws here in Arkansas are, you can have 4 forward facing lights on at one time. Your headlights and lower fog lights would be fine. Everything else is ok as long as it's not turned on.

If you want to challenge her, then go for it and prove her wrong in court, if you don't want the hassle, then take them off. If it's legal, I say put her in her place by quoting the laws and statutes. But that's just me.

The lights on your bar should be classified as aux driving lights. But I'd check with a less of an ass hat cop on that one and would also check to see if they aren't illuminated, whether it matters anyway.

that cop is nuts, around here (granted different state) they SELL used cop cars with the A-pillar spot lights STILL ON THE CAR! Now it is illegal to use them while driving, but noone gets a ticket.

turn it in so the lens isnt visible or maybe ad a cover, then she has no legal issues

What ever you do dont call the pd and say you saw the law and shes wrong. That will make you a target! If you going against the current put em on let her give you crap take the ticket and your the good guy no vengance

the lights on the light bar are ok. i was wournder what you call them. if thoughts are considered spot lights or if they are aux. driveing lights. so when i go down they i aint got wrong info and i dount make myself look like a @$$. i think i will do what `my pos mounty` said and go back to the pd and ask what the numbers were that she quoted and go from there

ya thats ture to but i want to make sure first be for i get a fine

Notify your State's Attorney General and let them fill her in.

Is it possible she is with the fashion police and not the city police?

I am willing to bet that the banner that Turdle posted, belongs on that lady cops behind.

Your right, around here there are some large as in fat cops. I wonder if cops have the same weight standards as the military. If you are running from one, not that I would recommend it just drop a donut. :D

Someone had told me that any light above the hood line is to have a cover on it, such as your spot light or roof lights. Ive heard of people failing inspections for not having covers on roof lights in PA. As for that spot light, they sell used crown vics with them still attached within the state.

It all depends on the state and its regs. It's possible that the officer was justified in writing the ticket, and it's possible that the officer was in the wrong. Without seeing your state's specific statutes, I can't form an opinion.

However, that being said, I would expect several things: First, if they're, in fact, illegal, none of the cop cars should be equipped with them either. Police vehicles are still required to meet the same state laws that ours are. Second, I would expect the officer to be able to quote the chapter and verse of the state statutes that define that particular light as not legal.

Without knowing what state you're in, I wouldn't even wager a guess as to their legality.
