This is in my wife's 92 Sport. I pulled the dead A4LD out, and replaced it with another A4LD I got from 410Fortune (thanks Jamie).

The 92 hooks up to the shift arm with a small ball and socket deal.

The replacement trans came from a 93, and has a different style of attaching. This is what I have. It's the left arm.

Can anyone show me what the cable end looks like?

Rangerx,

You mean how the able attaches to the shifter lever correct?

from what I inderstand guys he already has the kick down figured out, hes looking for the shifter cable.

Bill remember that shift lever was made to accept my solid linkage from my 84 floor shifter, there is a solid rod that goes through the hole and a bushing keeps it locked in place.

However, with my new shifter and cable (96 Mustang) we have a similar situation, I will show you the parts I got from Ford to make the connection, you can use the same setup, or similar here.

I will get pictures of both at lunch.

Dang I wish I would have thought about this before I shipped that sucker to you, Brett has a few A4LD's layin around...

Rangerx's truck is a 91, the cable comes fromt he back of the trans, not like most auto explorer's I ahve seen.

Yeah, a pic would really help me understand. :) I'm wondering if there is a piece missing that joins the cable to that round hole.

Nobody wants to post me a pic? :( :( :( ;)

I could also use one of the bracket.
