I thought the other number was way low - I must have gotten something wrong in the formula.

That isn't a bad RPM for 80 though... Might be low at 55.

with 33s and 4.56 i got 1710 rpms at 55mph ..that seems low
and 1538 @ 55mph with 33s and 4.10s..

im gunna be drivin a good bit of highway upwards og 55-65 mph..with 33s..wut gear am i gunna be looking for?.. i do a lot of city and backroad drivin..and some moderate mudding and trailing..i need to kno whats gunna get me decent gas mileage (better than the 10mpg i get right now) and will let me get up ther on the tach and speedo when i need to..i wunan see more torque, and a lil getup if i could at the start, and hav a good gear to pass someone on the highway..but im runnin 33s..maybe even 35s eventually..i dont want to ger too low now..and then be undergeared when i get 35s..
