new turbo pipes for the Troll

it has been a while since we posted pics or progress updates a couple of years but in that time my brother got married and what not so it is time to finish the projects laying around. this is the round two of the turbo kit, we built the first one ready to go just needed to start the truck. we decided we did not like it and redid all the piping. so things have taken alot longer then we expected. we still need to finish tig welding the uppipe and finish the down pipe and what not. as well as finish we welding the intercooler. we just finished sand blasting the headers and back housing today so i figured good time for a pic.

Hey, good to see you guys back at it. I figured ya'll were done and gave up. I'm glad I was wrong.

The pipes look good. Are the flex connectors lined?

all the flex pipes are turbo flexs with out the liner. i would not want any ss flex in my turbo. i got tired of seeing the explorer every day and we got back on it. i have been bussy building a bunch of other cars during this time. i built a turbo charged lighting with a Ford GT motor with 16 injectors with my best friend Matias. it is time to finish the explorer, 10s were never good enough my brother wants to go a 9 of course.

Well, you guys are still the champs when it comes to making an explorer go fast.

We've yet to see even a twelve second explorer on video. By the way, I have the 11.65 second run you posted embedded in my head. I don't think I'll ever forget this and I can't even remember how old I am anymore..haha

well when i am done with my brother truck i have been helping my buddy dominic with his rebuild as he just had to redo his motor. he is running a powerdyne but lack of money had kept him from going fast as he could not afford a new tranny. he has just ran in to a tko-600 for a good price so we will see how fast he can go. should be good enough for a 12 and then he wants me to put twin turbos on there for him.

the last thing I saw on Troll was a whole new tig welded aluminum intake, that was two years ago right?

yes it is a gas piston carbine length ar-15 in the back round, it is my little sisters. i am building another one for my self right now gas piston of course.

i am sad of course that we had to cut up the pretty intercooler and piping to redo it but i was not happy with the hot side and it need to be done. when it is all done of course every thing will have a nice pretty black powder coat. it will all be very slick of course.


my brother wife has never seen the truck run and is excited to see such a legend run finally. my goal was to get it running for his wedding but my sisters build of her Subaru took to long. i totally rebuilt her car and it was just too time consuming.

good things come to thoughs who wait i guess.
as most of you know my brother never post but he does read the pages and gets updates from me. one of us has to work hard.:

here are some more pics taken later in the day after i left.

we still need to add 02 bungs and egt bung along with some more grinding for spark plug Clarence, then every thing will be sent to the coater and the truck will be cleaned up and wired and then when it gets back we will get it running.
