Couldnt pass up deal on a 2001 AWD EB back in Jan 2008 w/115000 on the od.

I now have problem and would like some help w/snice this is my first 4wd vehicle.
problem= going down the road straight and to the right i noticed i have roaring sound but when i turn to the left it goes away, speed doesnt matter. Parts store said it probly a CV joint going bad. What is involed in repairing this i work on my own cars.

Check the front Hub Bearing assembly

Probably the driver side. Jack the front up, grab the tire at top and bottom and try to make it move side to side ( pulling out at bottom while pushing in at top and vice versa) . If you feel movement, it isd a worn hub most likely-
Check both front wheels. From your "turn left and it quits" description I am betting on the driver side being the noisy one-
