Th Govonator has proprosed to close 220 (of 279 total) state parks to cut the budget. These include T-haven and Pismo, as well as many others:

Some from the list
39. Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
44. Salton Sea State Recreation Area
66. Chino Hills State Park.
145. Pismo State Beach.

Full list and story here:

what?! i've been saving up and planning on making mine a worthy off roader and then this guy wants to shut the parks out? why doesnt he focus on more important things like fixing the patchy bumpy roads and highways? whenever i look at other drivers and their passengers i see them lug around in their cars like they are riding horses and i'm rattling my brain out too..

btw, he's cutting school budgets too.. yeah, education is good place to skimp out.. nice move arnie :banghead:

darn it.. for me that was the only upside to moving here :(

I didn't read the whole list, but neither of these two is or includes T-haven.
T-haven is a pile of dirt with no budget, so there's nothing to close to save money.

Sux bout all the rest, though.

Sux?

Since when did they stop working for us? Screw that! CA has the largest off road insustry in the nation... hey I got an idea, lets shut that down too!!

Lets shut down the ocean & beaches next!!! Costs way to much to keep the coast guarded...

Im glad to be going out of state to college. I never thought I could be this disgusted with such a beautiful state. Their trying to ruin it here!

Watching the news, rumor has it (keep in mind this is pure talkshow speculation) that this plan is just Ahnold grandstanding in an effort to shock the big state spenders into tightening their collective belts.

Hang in there guys, hopefully it wont come to pass.

It may be a little bit of grandstanding, but the budget is truly f'cked up.

I sure hope its grandstanding.. You shut down all of those parks and you will loose all of that tourist money which means less tax revenue.. Thats one way to make a self fulfilling prophecy.

This is the guy people wanted to change the US Constitution for so he could run for president?

Money has to be saved somewhere or taxes need to be raised. No easy answers...

...I am currently camping at a State Park this weekend..

..The Rangers received a memo yesterday without much information...The scuttlebutt has it that if it has a lake it will stay open, if not, it will close...:dunno:

..Leaving the Campground for breakfast this morning, people have already posted signs and information flyers at the entrance of the Park..The signs said the possible closure will happen July 1st...

...If you have 4th of July plans at a State Park, you might want to re-think your plans...:(

What a bunch of bull! Schwarzenegger's site says he recently named last week Travel and Tourism Week in CA, because it's so important to support tourism development projects. What a great way to start that off! Get rid of a majority of the places people visit in CA.

you know some of this is just BS though. I mean Anza Burango. Hundereds of sqaure miles of nothing. What are they going to to put a fence up? No money! Patrol it? No Money!

...The same thing was once said about Las Vegas and Laughlin...

...Once these places close they are open to be sold off to whomever...

...If they sell it off to developers for .10 on the dollar to recoup the States money, then they won't have to pay for maintenance, patrolling, fencing, etc...

...If these parks are closed, it is so easy for them to get rid of them...That is why it is so important to be heard to keep these parks open...

I think this is a bunch of BULL! This guy is such a moron.

Someone needs to B**ch slap him and make him realize that a whole industry in california is gonna suffer from what he is trying to do.:thumbdwn:

...The State is so far in debt they do not care...

...It is past the point of covering their butts for their mistakes...This just didn't happen since Arnie took office...The troubles were long before that and he is just currently in the drivers seat...

...Bigger issues with the State will reveal themselves in the next year or two...:(

And eventually, as the years pass, the fabric of civilization will wither away crushing the weak and the feeble, thereby leaving only the strong locked in a death match against each other for the last barrel of oil. DON DON DONNNNN.....

LOL that is funny shyt:p:

Anybody got a link to the list of closures online? I want to see if anywhere I wheel is going the way of the dodo. I swore never to watch a Schwartzenegger film as long as he's in office, he's worse than Gray Davis ever was.

The same link that's posted above, it starts on page 2 i think.

Sawed off shotgun wont be a problem, im sure i could find a blue heeler, but getting ahold of the last of the V8 Interceptors might prove difficult.
