No off-road use for limiteds?

Moderator time here folks. This is going into all threads on the '11 Explorer.

I know there are those of you out there that do not like the new Explorer. I'm fine with that and you are entitled to your opinion. HOWEVER I am tired of people bashing the '11 without ever driving one, sitting in one, or in some cases seeing one. If you have experience with one and don't like a feature or how it drives or how it failed you somehow, please post up about it. I've already found stuff I don't like and posted up about it, and I'm sure that there are other features/items that I will find that I don't like either.

If you don't like the fact that Ford called this an Explorer and you feel that the name is tarnished, don't whine here, it won't do any good. You'll just piss people off. Sent a note to Ford and complain to them. If enough people don't like the re-design and tell Ford, maybe they will take that into consideration.

If anyone persists in continued bashing or sniping (as in any other forum on the site), you will become eligible for a vacation from the site of an undetermined length.

Please do not respond to this post saying F-You or Thank You...That's not why it's here. Just read it and continue on.

Thank You.

On Edit..a healthy debate is always welcome on here. Please do not take it as different opinions are not allowed. It's the bashing that needs to stop.

in all fairness after driving the 4th gen my freind has alot id like to drive a 2011 and see what its all about

It's a great vehicle to drive, but without MAJOR mods, it's not wheelable. Good for moderately deep snow, some mud and gravel, but no Rausch Creek or Paragon type stuff.

wouldnt expect it to be much more then dirt road, inclement weather.

is it as comfortable as its supposed to be?

Yes..I love the seats. Very comfortable. The telescoping steering wheel helps too.

Looks like a Limited from the grill they start the segment with an XLT. Sidewalls look to high to be 20"s, if it was a Ford sponsored course I'm willing to bet they took a Limited and slapped 18" on it.

If you stop the tape in key spots you can read limited on the tailgate. Can't make out the tires though.

The guy starts out standing in front of a XLT with the 18" wheels.. then @ 3:03 he is driving a limited with the 20" wheels.. The whole time he is off road he is in a limited with 20" wheels... Man someone scratched that thing up too... That sucks...

Edit: look at 4:47 in the video the guy from ford is looking at the car like wtf did you do to it? how did you scratch it up so bad?

Agree, so my question is how does Ford say no off road use for Limited with 20" wheels when they were right there and are basically advertising this? Unless this is not considered off road? Maybe they don't want you to scratch it...hehehe!;)

Either way it makes me feel way better about going occasionally on beach rocks or beach sand and some snow a few times a year once I get the Limited. Those are the only times I have used my 4Runner "off road" as well and didn't want to loose that ability.
