No Start Issue 99 Limited UPDATED

I looked up the part number stamped on the back and mine is original factory.

okay just wanted to make sure, if you had an aftermarket security or remote starter system sometimes they can mess with the pats system. that light is still worth investigating, and i think you said there was a button somewhere too which should be looked at.

all that is assuming you have already verified spark and fuel

Oh, no I'm up and running. The transponder key was bad. I have 2 spares and they both will start it. The key I usually used will not start it any longer. I was trying to help someone who came into this post sequence who can't get his X started. I'm good to go, but thank you. There's a member PR27.11 who is having start issues similar to what I was experiencing and he was trying to get help here. I don't think he has posted a question to the forum apart what has appeared on this thread.

I was responding to Koda what I had mistaken to be the theft light. He didn't understand what I was talking about, and it is confusing, so I sent a pic to help explain. Yea, I'm ok it's the poor other guy who now has a problem...

I did it’s 98 xlt crank no start. Thank you it wasn’t getting looked at at the time so I was referring to yours. And no she hasn’t got hers started yet. But I’ve had some help since and need to go back a double check some things. Ugh but there’s a snow storm and I can’t work on it for a couple days. Thank you so much!! I do have some ideas left to do. And glad yours is running now!!!

98 xlt crank no start. Please help

Did you say you have the SOHC V6? If so (and if you've verified that you have fuel and spark) you may have jumped time. If this is the case you may have bent valves and your engine might be junk. I hope this is not the case, but it happens with the SOHC engines. Do a compression test on both sides to see.

If you have starting fluid it might be worth trying a quick burst while someone cranks it over. That’s a quick and dirty way to test lack of fuel delivery.

If it runs momentarily on starting fluid, the next step would be testing the fuel pressure at the rail.

@tripog you can disagree with me all you want but please don't spread disinformation on this forum

If you know how rfid transceiver works in relationship to a rfid chip if you don't understand the technology don't post bad information

A chip key don't need a battery a key fob does
Bottom line

Why would Wal-Mart spend much more money in batteries
He'll the battery is MORE expensive than a rfid chip

It's cool though believe what you want to :):) :)

A FORD key absolutely does not have a battery in it and @donalds is correct.

I wouldn’t trust a garbage cloned key with a battery that could fail, needs replaced, and is even larger than a transponder key.

I literally just posted a picture of my Walmart key with a replaceable battery. Walmart pats keys require a battery

Weird how it says it contains a replaceable battery and when you open the key there is a battery inside.
It's almost like you're intentionally spreading disinformation on this forum.

I'm not gonna argue with ya man you win
