Hey guys. i had a very long weekend of replacing my wheel hubs and my shocks. well all was well at the hometown house. except i would drive forward stop and then back up and i would hear sort of a thud/ clunk like noise up front but only if i switched gears. weird right?
and now i just to to my house up at state and i was at the bank pulled in slowly and turned and sure enough i heard a new noise. its up front. it definitely is something that only happens once every full rotation. it is basically a clunk but not very loud. kinda almost like something is just hitting something and then bouncing off.

i know i put it all back together right basically have no clue what it could be????
i thought possibly it would be a ball joint but that doesnt have anything to do with a rotation does it?
next thought is that the rotors are warped and they were "fitted" to the old hubs cause both were stock rotors and hub and now the new hub which is more true maybe is making that sit funny. also it sounds like its from the right side not the left and the left has a new rotor less than 10k miles.
only other guess is many a tie rod or cv joint? when i took the wheel hub off maybe i messed it up or something?
possibly transfer case going out?
my dad thinks maybe i just got a bad hub?

any advice would be great. also tomorrow morning i leave for florida till the 9th so please please please fill this thread with responses and then i will get back to you when i can.

Stop right now and check your brake caliper bracket bolts! If you steer all the way left, you can grab the passenger brake caliper from behind and try to wiggle it.

Turn the wheel all the way to the right, to check driver side.

okay i will run out there and check it right now. stand by caller.

okay just check it. drives side couldnt budge. the passagner side when i pulled and pushed on it seemed a smidge loose. should i jack her up and tighten it and take it for a test drive?

It won't hurt. This may not be your issue, but it is not uncommon for those bolts to work loose. Did you use loc tite on them?

Just for clarity--I am referring to the 2 15mm bolts for the caliper to knuckle bracket. If you loosened the 13mm caliper bolts, check them also.

so you are talking about the ones that holds the bracket to the knuckle not the actual bolts that are in the caliper that go through the pistons?
i am in the process of packing right now going ot finish up and then go try that out. any other things to check?

axle nut was about 200.
okay just went out ehre and one of the bolts was almost all the way out of the knuckle bracket. tightened that baby up and now she is sound free... although i broke my stabalizer bar in my fun bajaing through the yard but idc about that. thank you turdle!!! you are a life saver

I strongly recommend loc tite on those bolts. For some reason they like to back out. You can easily apply loc tite one bolt at a time in the oreilly parking lot if that is what it takes.

And this!
