Hey guys. i had a very long weekend of replacing my wheel hubs and my shocks. well all was well at the hometown house. except i would drive forward stop and then back up and i would hear sort of a thud/ clunk like noise up front but only if i switched gears. weird right?
and now i just to to my house up at state and i was at the bank pulled in slowly and turned and sure enough i heard a new noise. its up front. it definitely is something that only happens once every full rotation. it is basically a clunk but not very loud. kinda almost like something is just hitting something and then bouncing off.
i know i put it all back together right basically have no clue what it could be????
i thought possibly it would be a ball joint but that doesnt have anything to do with a rotation does it?
next thought is that the rotors are warped and they were "fitted" to the old hubs cause both were stock rotors and hub and now the new hub which is more true maybe is making that sit funny. also it sounds like its from the right side not the left and the left has a new rotor less than 10k miles.
only other guess is many a tie rod or cv joint? when i took the wheel hub off maybe i messed it up or something?
possibly transfer case going out?
my dad thinks maybe i just got a bad hub?
any advice would be great. also tomorrow morning i leave for florida till the 9th so please please please fill this thread with responses and then i will get back to you when i can.
