When are you heading back?

Monday, maybe tuesday. All depends on how I feel, what's being run, blah, blah blah.

If I leave Monday, it's stop and see that park. If it's tuesday, it's to just to get home.

The Hwy 50 route does cut about 1hr off the trip time.

Gjarrett:

"Klondike Bluffs and Tower Arch (trails #1 and #2 in the Wells book) are both in Arches Natl Park, and allow very close access to several famous arch formations that all the other tourists in their RVs have to either read about or look at through binoculars.... they also have dino prints right on the trail, you drive right to them and beside them. A stock Explorer can run the trails. I'm thinking of a stocker run Sunday to do those two trails and maybe Gemini Bridges. "

this sounds good to me , also because i'll have my kids with me and i'm sure they would like to see the tracks.

i also like your idea for TOTW, it may be just me but i just like the idea of having the whole group thing.

cause the only time i've really seen the whole group together as far as camp or trailheads would be truckhaven ( i think) and i've never been to that and don;t know if i will soon. so for those that can't go to truckhaven this would be a good alternative for a big group get together/run.

I'm also in favor of the group thing (for Friday) and I would LOVE to get pictures of the dino tracks - especially if there are some with people tracks next door... :D

The girls riding along are up for more touristy stuff than hard core, and since it seems that we are driving out the wheeling rig - we will need to make sure that we can also drive it back home... Worse comes to worse and we can drive the stocker, but I REALLY want to run my Ranger on those trails.

We will have to push off for home Monday, so anything we can run before then is good - especially dual interest trails - where we can watch and/or play depending on the terrain. Being new, I havn't a clue whatsoever, so I am just in for the ride in any case.

ld50 - "Footprints" should get archived right next to that great old song, "Feelings." ;)

well I`m relieved GL`s not packin` his gun :D

I`m leaving monday morning, so if you wanted company, we`d like to see the park too, otherwise we`ll probly take I-80.

Actual target from competition... 25 yards - rapid fire (5 rounds in 10 seconds) 10 total rounds with my personally built Colt 45 ACP.

Well, one hurdle out of the way - I got the tranny pressed apart today. Now on to the rebuild, then finish the crossmember, then the gears in the D35, then the new rear axle, then...

Just talked with rangerX If I can get the time off of work I will be filling the passanger seat of his truck for the duration of the event. Due to my work scedule I dont know if I will beable to get the time off till just a few weeks before the event so I wont sign up for the run till I know forsure.

Ride at your own risk, the last time I was in Moab the passenger area of RangerX's truck didn't seem like a very desirable place to be after he tried to cart wheel around potato salad hill. ;)

Ouch! LOL.

I have the cage now, so Matt's survival rate is higher. ;)

GJarrett, what can we bring for the wedding? Maple Syrup? Canadian beer? Toques? Beaver pelts? Moose figurines? Snowshoes? Little RCMP dolls?
:D

Bring the pelts and beer and toques (whatever that is) and I'll bring you a supply of sweet iced tea, bag of grits, boiled peanuts, pork rinds, and the book "How to speak Southern"! Then we'll have a North vs. South exchange! How does that sound, y'all?

Bill, you rolled it at POtatoe Salad hill? YIKES!

I saw Micheal take a strap at the top of that sucker and there is no way I am getting that off camber without a cage....

How many times did it flop over?

These two hosers are wearing toques, beauty eh?

I`m familiar with pork rinds, but I don`t know what "grits" are!

The roll was off to the side of potato hill. When I went out there 2 years ago the area he rolled on was fenced off. Potato salid hill was nothing. Just use alot of throttle and hope it bounces up the right way. That is how I made it up  :D :D

Dignan and maybe one or two others have expressed an interest in doing Elephant Hill. If we keep the Lockhart Basin run on Monday and camp out at the end of that trail (or a little further on at the Elephant Hill campground) would there be anyone who could stay long enough to run Elephant Hill on Tuesday with Dignan?

Moab Rim News: On that Pirate board thread linked previously by 410Fortune, someone is now saying that there is a possibility that a private party may buy land on Moab Rim. Even though Moab Rim scared the stuffings out of me in my IFS non-flexer, you other guys with SAS and more flexy BigDawgs should be able to negotiate it with much less adrenaline - and the trail is an absolutely awesome run. I am keeping Moab Rim on the schedule for Sunday for those who may be interested - this may be the last chance to run Moab Rim before it may be closed. I think that deserves making it a priority to run, if you've ever thought of doing it.... agreed? Who would want to run it? That would leave two major difficult Sunday runs - Moab Rim for BigDawgs and Pritchett Canyon for the Extreme group.

PS:

gl,

;) You can pack if you want... you just have to figure out how to install a Texas Kleenex Box to hide it in so no one can find it :D

Found the park.

It's called 'Great Basin National Park', and it's here
