Ok, well I'm on my way home from a friends house about 20 mins ago...and i lean over to grab my cell phone and my cigarette hit my shoulder well i wiped off the ash thinking that's all it was...about a min later i look at my passenger seat and there's smoke coming up from it so i look over and there's a cherry burning right through my seat i quickly grabbed it, but it wasn't fast enough I have a huge burn in my passenger seat...right down to the foam, I'm hoping there is something I can do to make this not noticeable aside from getting seat covers which I hate... I would be thouroughly *spelling* killed if my Dad saw this which inevitably he will if I don't fix it soon?? Is there a way I can get a patch of upholstery or something?? please lemme no soon I have to get this fixed ASAP

Look in the yellow pages and look for places that specialize in "fabric repair" or "upolstery repair." Some of these places can do miracle work. I had a gf, when I was about 18, that had a friend of her's let a cherry burn through the rear seat in her Prelude. I made a few calls and came up with a place that came highly recommended. For about $75 and 30 minutes, it was impossible to tell that there had been a hole in that seat.

wow great! just wat i was looking for, gonna have to save up for a few weeks but thank god something can be done...new seat woulda been to xpensive and knowing me I woulda f'd sumthing up and then been more screwed then before. Fabric repair looks like the way to go!

Just buy seatcovers and be done with it. I always get seat cover and mine look like the factory seat. Besides it keeps the seats in good condition for resale

I see this MUCH more as a sign to not grab for, or use, a cell phone while driving, more than stop smoking. Smoking will kill you in 20-30 years, grabbing for a phone, or using one while driving, has MUCH more chance of killing you instantly!

If you don't find any, just start calling a bunch of upolstery shops and ask them if they do fabric repair, they will usually answer no, then ask them if they know of any shops that do. If you call enough places, you will usually hear of one or two shops that are known for doing a good job of it.

You could try the fabric repair kits offered at most hardware stores...i used it for the same purpose in my old Tempo and they work great...and for less than $5

what does it require doing? I read somewhere that if i use tweezers and pick the black burn off...and replace it with fibers and then glue them in that'll work i'm not one for the small jobs though they make me nervous and my hands start to shake...I kno i act like i'm 80

if i remember correctly (been quite a while), you mix up a colored powder, apply and then add more powder for "texture"...it covered up the sig burns in the tempo well and there's usually a color to match...check out your nearby neighborhood hardware store, they usually have it near the counter....it's an "impulse" item, for those of us who realize at the counter that we burned a hole in something while smoking...and need to cover it up
