Hi guys: I posted this below.....RE:'98 Ford Ranger XLT 4X4 4.0L V6 engine
New to this site,and was hoping someone could shine a lite or direct me to a 'how-to' question.
We have oil pressure problems........have had 3 different shops do analysis
including the usual parts suspects(gage,sending unit,line,etc)and it is now down to the oil pump.
Want to do it myself,and my question is does the engine have to be lifted or removed to remove the oil pan? No where in the 'Chiltons' manual does it say whether the pan can be dropped without raising the engine,removing the axle,etc.
Can you help?
