My 88 Bronco has a very little rust....around the wheelwells ....just above the wheelwell trim....I don't want to go through the trouble of repainting it but i would like to at least compound it.....my question is...do you think fender flares can cover this? I want to put them on either way.....what do you think are my best options?? cut-outs? or extenda-flares? extenda flares seem to be the cheapest option..... what about you Perry?? do you have anything that won't kill my bank account and are a pretty easy install?

LOL sorry karol... personally i"m not a big fan of just covering up rust, especially if your in a high rust area. Flares will only make it worse and then it'll start eating through something serious.
I always liked the extend-a-fender's better then the cutouts myself though, look smoother...

Dont cover it, cut it

Karol,

Check out Jamesduff.com. They have the best looking flares for an 88 BII.

Dont cover up the rust, treat it first or it will eat up your truck quick.

Or you can cut it off, cover over the gaps with the extenda flares, but make sure you treat the cut metal to keep the rust from returning.

Best bet is to follow up with a good undercoating to stop it from coming back.

Thanks for replying guys

Well check out the photos here .....the worst rust is the rear bumper and tail gate area....I'm getting a body shop to do the tail gate.....I'm taking off both front and rear bumpers...sandblasting the plated chrome and getting them powder coated black..... the rust on the wheel wheels ia very minimal and yes... I plan to cut, compound or whatever I need to get it off and rust proof it... I just dont want to repaint the area and take the time to blend it real well due to the fact I will probably be covering it up anyway.....any suggestions would be appreciated..... there us a small amount of rust on the one wheel well and the other is virtually clean....the front wheel wells are clean....
