hey guys i have a 1977 f250.
i am thinking about PFF's coversion kit to a 1996 front end:

does anbody have experince with this company?
how are there products and will i need a new core support to mount the fenders and gille+headlights?

P.S i am only intrested in the fenders and hood not the bedsides, and i think i would go with the 6" flare.

I've heard pros and cons about their product. One was about their final finish and some on their fit. It's been talked about many times on this forum so you might reasearch it. Sounds like a fun project. Good luck

I saw Justin's explorer at the Moab run several years ago, I don't know if they had trouble installing it, but the fit looked pretty good to me, and I didn't see any trouble with the finish either. I think I saw it right after it was done, so I don't know how well it has held up, but that usually isn't a problem with fiberglass. I'm not an expert and I don't have first hand experience with PFF, but there is my 2 cents.

You should call Fiberwerx or Perry's regarding the header panel questions, my guess is yes you will need to get the header panel, headlights etc yourself. Pretty common with conversion glass.

Perry's glass fits just fine, but adjustment/trimming is always required with fiberglass installs

Perry's glass is top notch quality from what I have seen, I have seen alot of thier Ranger / Explorer stuff.

I have their 2nd gen front end for the 1st gen Explorer. The panels were flawless when new. The fit was right on, but you have to build the mounting tabs which must be installed at the rear of the front fenders. If you don't put the tabs in right, the panels won't line up with the doors.

I took off their wide fenders and added stock first gen steel fenders. I did this for better visibility while on the trail. I still have the fiberglass hood and it's still in top shape after 6 years.

And yes, you need a new header panel to match the year of the new front end.

Dunno... mine had tabs on the fenders, but nothing to hook them too. Fabrication was required at that time, I don't know if it's changed.

It goes behind the grill and it's what the headlights attach to. It attaches to the core support.

Auto Parts Train has them for a lot less than the factory. Or you can get them from the boneyard.

i have goten all of the info ineed from pff and im wondering if anybody else knows of comanys that make glass for 70's f-series?
just trying to get a look at everything before i buy somthing...
