Pics of my custom canvas windows!

DANG THAT TOOK A WHILE!!

I found the old thread and pics:

Looks like only 10 studs per window= much easier to get them in and out :)
I am thinking the upper and lower studs could be mounted on a piece of metal or plastic and the side ones can just be attached to the canvas. This way I can still roll them up for storage and they will fit tight since I wont have a snap every 6" or whatever....

If my plan goes well I see no reason why to chop the top off my beloved BII, meaning I can still have heat in those colorado winters :) and AC in the hot CA summers!

Yes I was refering to the pumpkin's fenders and I do want the front glass for my Navajo if you can find a template if not please let me know and I will try to get you one off mine I am not very crafty though and I am sure to mess it up

Trckmagik, those windows are awesome. I know your rig is just a trail rig but have the windows had an occasion to get rained on? Are they relatively watertight? To install the rear three windows do you have to irrepairably change the truck? Could you swap back and forth from plastic to glass depending on the time of year? What happens to the little wing window on the back seat doors? Is the divider still there on the inside? Sorry for all the questions.

Zensius,

I believe I can help with one of those.
If you look at the pics these guys had to install snaps for the new windows so the stock glass will no longer go back in without removing the snaps.

Correct. If you really want to remove all the snaps then one could put there stock windows back in. My truck is a trail rig, but does sit outside for months at a time when I have a project in the garage. Here in Texas it rains plenty and I have not had a window leak yet. Now if you went through a power wash then yes they would leak. As for the window question: Which windows are you talking about? The small ones on a four door or the small ones on a 2 door?

The small ones on a four door.

the window frame between the window that rolls up and the small stationary window will bolt into the door, so I assume the 4 door guys just unbolt it and take it out when they go with the canvas.

Its only there because the bottom of the door is not large enough to have the whole door glass go down into it, so thay make a sub frame and small window...
