scott, i dont know if using goof off directly on your paint is a good idea. if i were you, id just use some mineral spirits - thats what i used when i shaved my emblems. you can get it at any paint store, or at walmart in the paint department. when youre done, dont forget to put some wax over the area.

thanks Jason, I was wondering about that. My biggest concern is just making sure there's no holes in the doors. As long as there aren't any holes I can remove the crap easily enough.

expo5.0 - NO HOLES, right?

yeah, no holes. the goof off seems like it might be bad for the paint, but i've used it with good success on my truck for the side things and the emblems and a few of my friends have on their vehicles as well. in the future though i too will use mineral spirits if they are less dangerous to the paint. thanks. and i repeat therea re no holes or anything to worry about as long as its never been repainted by a horrible bodyshop like mine was.

Absolutely gorgeous X, YetiX. Exactly what i want. Looking at the pics gives me a nervous feeling 'cause if can't wait till i get some $$ so i can have such a nice car.
I'm thinking about painting the sideview mirror housings; do you think there's any special preparation (other than sanding) needed on the plastic? For the paint, would something like what you buy at Pep Boys be sufficient? What airdam did you get from EE? I like the one you have but don't see it on their website. Whats up?

I'd use the same stuff I used to paint the black part of the front bumper. It's a three step deal. You spray them with adhesion promoter, the flexible primer (I know the mirrors aren't flexible but the primer bonds to the adhesion promoter) and then the color matched paint.

Good luck and thanks for the compliments. BTW, the most expensive part of the whole deal was the wheels & tires. Everything else can be done for VERY little $$.
