I went from stock 235/75/15's to 32's and my city mileage tanked. Highway not so much, maybe 1 mpg. City dropped from 16-17 to about 13. I'm in the process of hunting down some 4.10's for the rear, already got the fronts. Should see a marked improvement.
31s it is thanks guys for the help. I need to drive this thing everyday and I'll need that gas mileage. Plus there's more options and I won't have fitment issues. Thanks again everyone time to start hunting deals on new tires.
That's strange though about the MPGs, cause I bought the wife her first explorer (93) with the 235/85R15s and had WAY worse MPGs than her new explorer (95), which I found out afterwards has 30x9.5R15s on it.. But personally I love how well the 30s fill the wheel wells W/O any lift
Just put on 31-10.50-15's and even with a 1 inch tt I had to trim the bumper sides but after the mud flaps were off they don't hit the side step trim.
I would think these are big enough for a stock 5.0 with 3:73's.
