Platinum OEM Motorcraft Shocks vs Bilstein B4

Tried a search, but no dice.

Anyone with an Explorer Platinum 2016-2019 go from the OEM motorcraft shocks and struts to the Bilstein B4?

Is the ride stiffer, just as smooth as OEM, or softer than OEM?

If it's stiffer then I'll stick to the oem. I'm looking to get the ride quality back to at least the factory feel. It's pretty bumpy right now after 76k miles, so I want to get a good idea of others experience.

At 115k miles, it might be time for me to start considering new shocks, though I have to say, the shocks "seem" to be fine. If they are going, it is minor and the ride is a little rougher than it used to be. That said, everyone seems to recommend the Bilstein B6. I like the stock ride, it is...

Yes, and not quite the same. Those only show using the Bilstein B6 which have a sportier feel. They mention the B4, but only for an OEM feel. They don't address if it actually does have a softer feel than OEM, more of a guess.

I have used the B6 in my previous vehicle, and they were a decent ride. Not like the original ride though.
