You may want to have an other option added. I myself am not a big fan of either. I haven't used anything besides Hella, but like a less heard of brand more. Just a thought.

good idea, will do

go HELLA!!! i have the rallye 1000s, i bought them in norway for cheap! i use mine whenever possible, even though i dont think they are legal here...... oh well

Pilot brand

i thought about Pilot, they go under the last one, no offense or anything, i had pilots on my mazda

For the price, you really cant go wrong wit Pilot. I happen to be a PIAA fan myself.

recent piaa convert. can't say enough great things about them!

Your biggest KC fan here. I love em, and wouldn't change for nothin.

I've got KC Comp Daylighters and love 'em. They're tied to my hi beam circuit. Makes for a h*** of a set of flash to pass lights!!! (LOL) Gonna add a set of PIAA 510's the factory locations real soon.

On edit, I added a set of KC 50 series fogs in the factory locations instead of the PIAA's and I'm quite happy with them.

Which is better?

Tough question. If you go for 'cost don't matter' then I'd say the high end Hella's seem to be the better light, though I'd guess PIAA has some pretty similiar to them, but I haven't seen them. If you go for the best light for your buck, the Hellas are still pretty good lights for the low cost. However, PIAA's are very good in the best cost for most output to me and a snap to install. Overall I'd choose PIAA(and I have had sets of different brands over the years). *two pennies*

Fog Lights

Pilot_____Bought a kit prewired for my 97(wires cut to lenth) that included custom brackets for $65 at a local speed shop. Work great, installation was a breeze.

I love my piaa 1500 driving lights; they kick the crap out of my stock headlights. I thought they were definately worth the $180 I paid for them.

But now, I have to say that my Phillips HID conversion is easily the best money spent on lights. I paid $510 (including shipping). Currently, I only have 1 of the bulbs hooked up because I fried one of the ballasts (voltage problem due to stock FORD wiring).

I need to take a nighttime picture of how much light is projected by just 1 headlight. After seeming much light can come out of a stock explorer headlight housing, I am impressed. The light pattern is very wide. From inside the car, you cannot tell that only one headlight is on.

So, my vote goes to "OTHER" for my Phillips HIDs.

I recently installed a set of Hella Black Magics. The installation was very easy, and all the wiring came with fuse holders, relays, and looms. The Black Magics look awesome in the daytime and really shine at night (no pun intended).

For headlight replacement I choose a Xenon-white lamp from Street Glow. They were only $15 each and wow what a difference. When I had one of each in it was like blue vs. orange. The super white is really cool, it looks like a new Benz coming at you, add a nice set of offbrand halogen foggers and for under $100 I am satisfied

I like Hella's I had 10 on my last Explorer. 4 fog, 4 driving, and 2 pencil beams. I plan on putting the Hella Black Magics on my new one. They look kick ass when they are turned off. I also will replace the bulbs with either Piaa bulbs or some of the third party hid like lights. I like their output better.

Just my opinion, worth both cents.
