This is driving me nuts. I have a 97 AWD SOHC 109K miles and everytime I hit the gas from a stop I get a pop from what seems like the passenger side front. Jacked it up and giggled stuff around and everything seems to be tight. Ball joints good cv seems ok drive shaft seems fine? But I don't have a lot of experience with cv type stuff. I'm more of a u-joint guy. Any ideas what this could be? Any help would be great.

Clicking would lead me to believe it was a CV shaft

It just pops once then goes away...

Can you feel the pop under your left floorboard? Torsion Arm worn through the Kevlar pad?

Can't feel anything on the left, just a quick pop then everything is fine. It's pretty loud and slowley became more frequent.

Hi Bauer,

Any luck finding the problem. I am having a similiar pop and can't seem to narrow it down.

Pull the front driveshaft-don't just look at it,you need to pull it out and look real closely at the small rubber boot at tranfer case end
Bet it is torn, and greaseless.
If it is-replace the driveshaft.
