So Luna back again had my little truck running and it was going great i drive around all of socal for work and my truck has been doing the job. She leaks a little coolant from the hose. So on my way to work the engine started shaking bad! I pulled over but no overheating or nothing i ended up towing it home and checking to see if coolant got into the block. It did not the oil seems good as I just did the oil change. I was wondering what could be the cause of that? I was thinking spark plugs? I haven’t driven it in about a week n half just to wait to be able to replace the spark plugs and wires this weekend along with the upper radiator hose and thermostat? also my engine is a 2.0 but since it is caked w oil and grime and I want a little more power in it I was wondering if any of the mazda pickup engines from 87-93 would fit right in. More specifically I came across a 93 b2600 engine and trans I was hoping I could use those it would come w a harness and ecu would it be a plug and play or would i have to do much fabrication? I want more than 85hp so I want to be able to fit the 2.6 into it would i need to do anything crazy to make my truck fuel injected? will the engine fit? Ik i would have to get a b2600 hood for it to clear but im hoping it will sit in the same place so i can use it. I’ve tried looking for anyone who’s done something similar. Any help is appreciated thank yall again for the replies on previous posts🙏

There may be some here with knowledge of the older Mazdas, and I hope there is, but whatever knowledge I have of Mazdas is the 94 and up trucks, because those rebadged Rangers. Mines a 94 and is identical to my Ranger, save some trim and body panels.

All good there’s bound to be someone who knows. I wasn’t ever really a fan of trucks i’m more of a jdm guy but working in construction I had this 98 ranger work truck that was what changed my mind on trucks lol.

You should look at installing a pushrod ohv 4.0 and 5 speed manual…. The Mazda b4000 would have this drivetrain
The 4.0
Ohv 90-2000 is one of the greatest engines of all time
And backed with the Mazda 5 speed it can last a lifetime
Your truck shipped as a Mazda b2000
But the b3000 and b4000 are similar enough that if you are going to go through the trouble of a repower / swap…
Mine as well go 4 oh

that wouldn’t be bad at all but I want to keep it a 4cyl. i’m not looking for crazy power as it will be my daily and i want it to be as gas efficient as possible. thanks for the suggestion tho I might look into it just to see lol
