My 2018 explorer sport had a flashing keyless entry pad, it would then stay lit. This drained the battery twice after trying to use the personal code to lock my truck. I read a number of threads and fixes for this.....but had not seen what I ended up doing to resolve it.
In the main screen the keypad code is listed as a setting.....once I entered the original code of the vehicle, it took me to a screen to enter a new passcode......I pressed cancel, reentered the original code again.....and the keypad stopped flashing and turned off once the interior lights turned off after I exited. It has been 4 days and no issues. The original code must reset the keypad to shut off the pad as it is intended. Hope this helps.
