Rear Hatch Glass and Door

I recently purchased my '96 XLT Sport Trac and I can't get the rear hatch open. The key turns the lock, the handle turns all the way around but it will not open. What am I doing wrong?

The link is most likely separated from the handle. You will have to get the panel off to get the hatch open to fix it.

Thanks, I kinda thought that I would have to pull the inside panel. I just was hoping there might be a quick fix,lol.
