rear shocks and springs

I'm new here and looking for suggestions for new rear shocks and springs, the rear spring broke and took out the shock. I have an 02 XLT with a 4.6L--3.73 gears--spring has a rating of "DB"(what ever that means). I use it as a daily driver but I do tow upto around 2.5 ton with it. I found KYB-GR-2 for a decent price. Also thinking of trying Moog Springs-I'm told they are variable rate.--Is this a good combo--Any suggestions.
