Hi, just wondering do people ever try to use the Bronco II Tire Carrier?

Yes people who have broncos with a tire carrier use it...

Or what was your question? hahaha

I think he ment on a explorer. I've never seen one on a X.

the reasson that you don't see them in explorers is that the hatch needs to much reinforcement to support the weight, there are some treads here explaining the issue
yes i figured he meant using it on an explorer, but the clearer the question the better the answer right? hehe

I am trying to mod a rear tire carrier from a 2000 chev blazer for my 94' Limited. I will get some pics to show you what I am doing. I've had to do some cutting and grinding but I think it will look ok. The hinges were useless. But the rack and the latch are the most important things. I haven't figured out exactly how to reinforce the panels yet. I get to that tomorrow.

I checked out jay's build thread. But that really looks like it'l mess up the quarter panel right nicley.

I think he reinforced that corner a lot but didn't really say how, I could be wrong since all I did was scan over it to get the general idea

Looks good I wish I had those kind of fab skills.

I converted mine a couple of years ago using a 1990 BII assembly. I had to remove my OE spare setup so I could do a cat back dual mod. Minor mod to hinge brackets and bottom fender skirt was all that was needed. Been working great since. OOOPS. The only problem I did run into was that I couldn't use the rear wiper (wouldn't clear the receiver bracket). Haven't missed the wiper a bit.
