I have to build the new transmission crossmember. Then I can move on to the suspension.

Worked on my half door a little bit.

Is that a cup holder? Awesome....

About how much does that half door weigh?

I am considering getting rid of the tube doors (they have never been put on) and building half doors. Weight is the factor

No update on the truck. I picked up another project, 72 Chevelle Malibu. The truck is still the main project but I picked the car up as a father/son thing with my pops.

Wow, body looks pretty straight

I got my Transmission crossmember all squared away. It needs to be finish welded as its only tacked together right now. This is about my 4th design or so. The problem came from the fact that Im trying to fit this crossmember, my upper link and my lower link mount in to about 6-8" of space. The bushing ends are 2" .25 wall DOM, the tubing is 2"x2" 3/16th wall square, the gussets are 3/16th plate. It should be very solid. I got rid of the stock trans mount so this mounts directly to the trans and the bushings act as the trans mount now.

Its 99% welded. I didnt weld the last bushing on cause untill I make the frame mounts that will allow me to make small adjustments if needed.

Looks stout!

Lets see it in the truck so I can figure out how it works and copy it!

I didnt get the tabs and everything yet but I figured Id bolt it up to the tranny so you can see how its going to work. The tranny is going to be raised another 3/4-1" from this picture. It should get me pretty close to a flat belly.

You can see here how the mount is going to be on the plate I added to the frame which will allow me to mount my upper link infront of it.

Quick! Weld that front suspension in before some one decides to move the body back in place!

Little bit of boxing on the frame for mounting purposes.

I also ordered some stuff today. If all goes to plan this should allow some much needed upper link clearance, might even let me lower the front end a couple inches.

Sick new motor mounts from Ruffstuff.

DUDE! I need some of those motor mounts. Where were they 4 months ago when I put my doubler in? Those are sweet. I wish they came with lower mounts, but i need to build a crossmember too.

The motor mounts mount high up on the frame. these stick straight out from the block. Ill grab some better pictures when they get here.
