I have a 1992 XLT 4 door. I want to upgrade the rimes and tires. You knw those rims with the triangle shaped holes? Well I want those and paint them black with some mild all terrain tires. My truck is not lifet at all and wont be.

What exactly will fit on a 1992 XLT for rims, I mean like bolt pattern and stuff....

Stock wheels are 15x7 5 on 4.5" with 4.5" Backspacing.

i would go with a 15x8 rim with 3.75 back space , and some 30x9.50 15 bfg AT's...

It all depends on the tire size.. 15x8 isn't needed unless he plans on going to 12.5 wide tires. The stock rims & a tire up to 32x11.5x15 or 33x10.5x15 will go perfect with his truck. Aftermarket rims with 3.75 backspacing will push the wheels 3/4" of an inch out more. That shouldn't be an issue at all but it depends on how much your willing to spend.

I say go for that but get 31s. Getting 30s is a mistake if you want the slight offroad look.

think the 31's would fit on stock ?

92 stock it should.

Refer back to my post (#9) in your other thread. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143867
You would have known that. ;)

You can also fit a bigger tire on a stock wheel. Here is a picture of Felix with 33x10.50 on the stock 15x7 wheel.

ya .. you still dont get that tire size and body lift's had not a thing to do with what i needed , that is "the" best way to measure Lift there is ..college degrees can sometimes be a bad thing to have , it's hard to get people to understand..lol..

The link in your other thread that Froader linked to you clearly shows that you can squeeze a 31x10.5x15 on a stock rim with NO lift. If you bothered to read the thread, you would have understood. Just to make sure you can clearly see it, I'll show it you.
